About Michael
Michael Guilday BSc., LLB, Grad Dip Commercial Law, M Tax, Grad Dip Applied Corporate Governance. Michael is General Counsel & Head of Property at Sydney Fish Market and a member of the Executive Leadership Group. He is responsible for the Legal and Property functions, providing executive oversight across commercial, operational, governance and ESG matters within Australia’s largest seafood trading and distribution precinct.
In his role, Michael partners closely with the CEO and Board to support strategic decision-making, capital planning, stakeholder engagement and organisational
transformation during a period of significant redevelopment and renewal. Prior to joining Sydney Fish Market, Michael held senior in-house legal and governance roles with Lendlease Corporation, Cbus Super Fund, Commonwealth Bank and Goodman Group. Across these organisations, he led high-performing legal
teams and advised Boards and executive leadership on complex corporate, property, funds management and regulatory matters, including within ASX-listed environments.
Michael has a strong interest in business transformation and governance uplift. He is passionate about leading strategic initiatives, building and mentoring capable teams, and embedding disciplined, ethical decision-making frameworks within complex organisations. He actively supports regulatory and policy advancement, innovation and operational improvement, and is committed to recognising Australia’s First Nations peoples, promoting workplace neurodiversity and fostering holistic health and wellbeing.
Michael’s current volunteer and board appointments include Non-Executive Director of ADHD Australia and New Sydney Waterfront Co, Member of the In-House
Corporate Lawyers Committee of the Law Society of NSW, and NSW Executive Committee Member of the Association of Corporate Counsel Australia.
